Biography

Zhongguo Li

Zhongguo Li received the B.Eng. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Manchester, in 2017 and 2021, respectively. He is currently a Professor in the School of Automation at Southeast University, China. Prior to this, he held academic positions as an Assistant Professor at the University of Manchester and University College London, and worked as a Research Associate at Loughborough University. Dr. Li has served as an Associate Editor for several journals, including Transactions of the Institute of Measurement and Control, Scientific Reports, IET Circuits Devices & Systems, and Frontiers in Robotics and AI. His research focuses on control and decision-making for networked systems, robotic learning, and resource allocation in large language models and robotic systems. In these research fields, he has authored or co-authored more than 40 papers in well-recognised journals and conferences, including IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, Automatica, IEEE Transactions on Cybernetics, and IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Learning Systems. He is also the author of the book Distributed Optimization and Learning (Academic Press, Elsevier, 2024).

I am delighted to share that my PhD supervisor, Prof. Zhengtao Ding, has been elected as a Fellow of the IEEE for contribution to nonlinear and adaptive control with applications to multi-agent systems. This is a well-deserved and prestigious recognition for his outstanding contributions to control engineering.
